Cone Beam CT

Cone beam computed tomography is also referred to by professionals as a CBCT Scan. The large scanner rotates around the patient’s head, obtaining approximately 600 precise images to provide adequate detailed data of a very specific area in a patient’s mouth, jaw, ears, nose, neck and throat. CBCT imaging has become increasingly important in the treatment planning and diagnosis of orthodontics, endodontics and most importantly dental implants.

Cone Beam CT Systems have multiple benefits to our patients aside from the use of planning and diagnosing. For Example

  • Reduced exposure to scatter radiation
  • A single scan produces sufficient data to detail a wide variety of views and angles useful for pathology reports.
  • Cone Beam CT scanning is painless, non-invasive and highly accurate.
  • Ability to capture both bone and soft tissues in a single scan

Although CBCT imaging is a relatively new technology to dentistry, it has already transformed the way dental professionals collect information, diagnose and plan treatments. The incredible leap from interpreting two-dimensional data to 3D data and imaging has set a new standard for the future of imaging and diagnostics and indefinitely altered the way we are able to practice dentistry. We are very proud to provide this service to our patients. Call us, or request online to schedule an appointment. We look forward to seeing your smiles!
